My Story

From a young age, I was exposed to the fascinating world of visual media, and it wasn’t long before I realized that I wanted to pursue a career in the film industry. To me, films contain an element of magic - the ability to transport us to another time and place, to bring out emotions and alter perceptions.

As a creative individual, these are some of the aspects that attracted me to get involved in this industry. Having had the privilege of working closely with Shabnam during her time at Do West Fest 2023, I can confidently attest to her exceptional skills, dedication, and passion for videography.

​

Shabnam joined Uma Nota Culture as a volunteer videographer for the Do WestFest 2023 street festival, which takes over 6 city blocks between Lansdowne and Shaw street each year and has grown to over 500,000 patrons throughout the weekend.

 

Throughout the event, Shabnam showed so much dedication and commitment to her position and her impact was truly remarkable. She demonstrated a great level of professionalism, creativity, and adaptability. Her ability to capture the essence of the festival and produce high-quality video content was consistently impressive.
